In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli has officially announced his retirement from Test cricket, bringing the curtains down on a glorious 14-year journey in the sport’s most traditional format. The news, while speculated in recent days, was confirmed just after Rohit Sharma declared his own Test retirement. Reports suggested that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) attempted to persuade Kohli to reconsider. Test cricket has been more than just a format—it’s been a teacher, a companion, a test of grit. The quiet intensity of the game, the patience, the small moments—these shaped me," wrote Kohli. Though he admitted the decision wasn’t an easy one, he said it felt lik...

Shashi Tharoor Dismisses Trump’s Mediation Claim in India-Pakistan Ceasefire Talks

Image
Congress MP and veteran diplomat Shashi Tharoor has strongly refuted former US President Donald Trump ’s assertion that Washington played a mediating role in brokering the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan, calling the claim "unfortunate" and "diplomatically inaccurate." Trump, in a social media post over the weekend, stated that the United States had led negotiations that resulted in a sudden cessation of hostilities between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. Both India and Pakistan had formally confirmed the ceasefire shortly after Trump’s announcement, fueling global curiosity about the US's actual involvement. Shashi Tharoor and Trump Speaking to NDTV, Tharoor minced no words. “Let me be blunt about it — what the US did was not mediation. Conversations occurred, yes, but India never sought or accepted third-party mediation,” said the Thiruvananthapuram MP, who previously served as a high-ranking official at the United Nations. He elaborated that w...

Indian, Pakistani troops maintain border calm after ceasefire agreement. The ceasefire, initiated on Saturday and credited to U.S. President Donald Trump ’s diplomatic intervention, followed four days of heightened military confrontation between the two nuclear-armed nations. However, several educational institutions in the affected regions remain shut as a safety measure.
